Monday, 10th December 2018 The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD), Ministry of Communications, conducted the fourth National Weather Briefing after the previous briefing regarding Inter-monsoon period in October 2018. A total of 80 participants from government and private agencies as well as members of the general public attended the briefing which took place at the Auditorium Hall, Information Department.

The National Weather Briefing is one of the department and the Ministry of Communications' initiatives to invoke engagement with different user groups such as those from Safety and First Responders, from the Economy and Industry groups, Constructions, Insurance Companies, Small Medium Enterprise as well as from the Mass Media. After getting encouraging responses from the public in the previous weather briefing, BDMD once again welcome the participation of the general public for the upcoming weather briefing.

The ultimate goal of the National Weather Briefing is to improve the understanding and awareness of various user groups towards the current weather conditions affecting our nation, and also to facilitate end-users to be more weather-ready and have a better understanding of Brunei Darussalam's climate. The main focus of the National Weather Briefing was on Brunei Darussalam Weather, Climate and Seasonal Outlook throughout the Northeast Monsoon period from December 2018 to February 2019 which was presented by Awang Hassanul Kamal bin Haji Adam, a Meteorological Officer, a meteorologist from the BDMD. Other activities include promotion and selling of BDMD's coffee table book titled Nubivagant With Wondrous Scenes of The Abode of Peace, the promotion of Brunei WX Mobile Application, social media and colour coded severe warning.
