Brunei Darussalam is expected to experience the Northeast Monsoon from December 2017 until March 2018. Normally
during the rainy season in December and January, the country will experience very active weather conditions with
occasional heavy showers and thundershowers especially during the afternoon and at night.

Like previous events, it is important to note that the risks of flash floods and flooding at low-lying and flood-prone
areas, and the risks of landslides, can occur especially during heavy rainfall of more than 2 hours. The risk of severe
flooding may occur during the event of heavy rain coinciding with high tide. Strong surges from the Northeasterly winds
may also increase the waves height over Brunei Waters from moderate to rough states.

In this regard, the general public are advised to take necessary measures and precautionary actions especially during
the upcoming rainy season, and to always be alert with the latest weather warnings or advisory issued by the
department in order to ensure safety and preventing undesirable incidents.

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions, and shall issue weather advisory and warnings if necessary. For the
latest weather update, the public may contact our Duty Meteorological Forecaster at our Weather Forecast Office,
