Brunei Darussalam is still currently in the phase of second inter monsoon period, where the wind flow from the East is dominating from the surface to upper levels of the atmosphere. Normally during the transition period, the rain and thunderstorms activities are increase. Most of the country's weather system during this season is greatly influenced by the diurnal forcing where the sea breeze plays a pivotal role in generating active thunderstorms cloud cell in the rural areas during the afternoon, before moving to coastal and sea areas at night.

Pada 18hb Oktober 2015, jam 0800 pagi waktu setempat, Taufan KOPPU berada di lokasi 16.0°N 121.4°E, di sebelah Utara Negara Filipina, bergerak menuju Barat dengan kelajuan 15 kmsj berserta angin kencang selaju 166 kmsj. Taufan ini dijangka akan terus bergerak perlahan menuju Barat Laut ke Utara, seperti yang diramalkan oleh Pusat Amaran Taufan Bersama Hawai, USA, dimana dalam garisan titik merah menujukkan kawasan yang dijangka akan terjejas oleh ribut Taufan KOPPU.

1. General Situation
At 08 am local time, 18 October 2015, Typhoon KOPPU was located at 16.0°N 121.4°E, north of the Philippines, moving west at about 15 km/h with maximum wind speed of around 166 km/h (Figure 1). Typhoon KOPPU is expected to continue moving slowly Northwest-North, as indicated by the typhoon track forecast in Figure 1, issued by Joint Typhoon Warning Centre, Hawaii, USA. The weather situation over Brunei Darussalam for the next few days will continue to be influenced by the indirect effects or tail­end effects of Typhoon KUPPO track and circulation, as it is forecasted to linger around the Philippines in the upcoming few days....

Since last 8th September, Brunei Darussalam has been experiencing hazy conditions with average minimum horizontal visibility of 3 to 6 km with few occasional crossing of showers and thundershowers in between. The current slight to moderate haze conditions affecting our nation are trans-boundary in nature, transported by low-level winds flow system in the atmosphere, blowing from Southwest to Northeast. According to the latest schematic Haze Map issued by the Singapore National Environment Agency, widespread moderate to dense smoke haze continue to persist in Central Southern Sumatra and many parts of Kalimantan.
